Lenoir – Douglas Pinkney Annas, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Caldwell County to the late Deo and Ella Annas of Sawmills. He was married to Ruby Tedder Annas of the residence for 68 years. Doug retired from the United States Army National Guard Reserves and the United States Postal Service in 1988. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working at his church, Hudson First Baptist, where he served in many different capacities during his 55 years there. Doug never met a stranger as he enjoyed getting out and meeting people. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings. Other than his wife, Doug is survived by his sons, Jeff Annas and wife, Vickie; Tim Annas and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Shannon Spears and husband, Jon; Jamie Annas; Erin Lutz and husband, Tyler; Dr. Cole Annas; Claire Bortnick and husband, Ricky; great-grandchildren, Layton and Mayven Lutz; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Sardis Cemetery with Pastor Mack Jarvis III officiating.
