Dorothy Watson

Dorothy Ellen Kirby Watson, 96, died peacefully at Shaire Center on July 15, 2023.

Born on April 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Lola Price Kirby. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Timothy Watson, and her only sibling, Ruth Kirby Morris. She is survived by two daughters; Pamela Ramsey and husband, Lewis; Karen Tolbert and husband, Carl; a granddaughter, Kirby Morton and husband Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Colby and Autumn Ginn.

Dot was an active member of Lower Creek Baptist Church until her declining health prevented her from attending. She loved to walk at Quest 4 Life or the Senior Center and did so until after her 95th birthday.

The family would like to express their gratitude to AMOREN Hospice for their kind and compassionate care, and to the nursing staff on the memory care hall at Shaire Center – angles on earth, who lovingly cared for Dorothy during the last months of her life.

A private graveside service will be held at Union Baptist Church, the church of Dorothy's childhood.
