Dorothy Randall Oliver

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Dorothy Bell Randall Oliver, age 93, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, October 08, 2010 at the Lenoir Health Care Center. Born July 10, 1917, in Watauga County, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Wesley and Rebecca Triplett Randall and the wife of the late Robey Alfred Oliver. She was a home maker and a member of the Indian Hills Baptist Church. She liked to can, quilt, garden, sing, read her Bible and tell everyone about Jesus.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Julius “Buddy” Edward Oliver, and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors are three daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Elizabeth Greer of Lenoir, Marlene Reitzel of Hickory, and Lona and Gary  Lawrence of Lenoir; three sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred Oliver and companion, Barbara Ritch,  of Lenoir, Havard and Nancy Ann Oliver of Lenoir, and Garland Burl and Barbara Oliver of Lenoir; two brothers, Grady Randall of Triplett, NC, and Taft Randall of Virginia;  she is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 42 great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A funeral service for Mrs. Oliver will be held on Monday, October, 11 2010, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Pastor J.B. Crouse, Reverend Steve Butler, and Pastor Tony Harris. Interment will follow the service at the Hartley Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Oliver, Shawn Oliver, John Edward Curtis, Shane Whittington, Allen Sumlin, Rex Sumlin, Robbie Oliver, Greg Oliver and Havard Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Oliver, Jason Oliver, Steve Sumlin, Kenneth Sumlin, Keith Sumlin, and Joe Sumlin. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2010 prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
