Doris Ann Odum

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Doris Ann Odum, age 78 of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.Born July 5, 1936 in Lake County, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Sherman England and Anna Mae Slaughter Davis and the wife of the late Bobby Gene Odum. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, William Sherman Davis. Mrs. Odum was a loving mother and grandmother and had retired as a CNA from Broughton Hospital in Morganton.She was currently doing private home care.She was a member of Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her 5 children; Teresa Ann Rose and husband Doug of Fruitland Park, FL; Perry Cook and wife Tina of Newton; Harry James Odum, Robert Sherman Odum and Michael Odum; all of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Margie and Mary Sue; and two brothers, Sherman and David.She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lindsey, Jennifer, Sherry, Matthew, Jonathan, Josh, Marcus, Lacey and Victoria. A celebration of Mrs. Odum’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Monday December 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
