Doris Kirby

Hudson- Doris Setzer Kirby, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1950 to the late Grady Setzer and Nellie Price Setzer. Doris retired from Fairfield Chair Plant 1 in January of this year after serving for 40 years. She considered her Fairfield co-workers as part of her family. Doris will be remembered for her huge heart and she touched the lives of many people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kirby; siblings, Ray Price; Louise Parson; James Setzer; Linda Bays and Larry Setzer. Doris is survived by her daughter, Amanda Haas and husband, Richard of Hudson; sister, Ginger Marley of Moravian Falls; granddaughters, Brooklyn Seber and husband, Cody of Crawfordville, FL and Savannah Smith and husband, T.J. of Lenoir; great-grandsons, Dawson Seber and Westin Smith; great-granddaughter to be, Caylin Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gary Shew officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
