Doris Hicks

Mrs. Doris C. Hicks, age 75, of Hudson passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born December 2, 1944 in Caldwell County, Doris was a daughter of the late, Albert Hamby and Rachael Hamby Price.Doris enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the birds.She will be remembered most for being a dedicated caregiver to her special needs son.In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Tony Hamby. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, David Hicks; her children, Laura Ward and Shannon Hicks; a sister, Peggy Cannon (husband Ervin); a brother, James Hamby (wife Conlee); a grandson, Jeffrey Cox (wife Jesica); a great grandson, Tatum Cox; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graveside celebration of Doris’ life will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ron Burgett officiating.
