Doris Lambert Hayes

Doris Lambert Hayes, 73, of Granite Falls went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on July 31, 2022 at Amorem Hospice in Hudson. Doris was born on December 29, 1948 in Caldwell County to the late Buford and Malva Triplett Lambert. She was married to Danny Hayes for 51 years. Doris was a homemaker and seamstress that, also, enjoyed making floral arrangements. Doris loved to cook for her family, friends, and church family. She spent time trout fishing and watching her son drag race. She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church of Morganton.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her son Martin “Marty” Hayes and wife Stacey of Granite Falls. She is survived by her brother Darrell Lambert and wife Marilyn of Morganton and her sister Christy Ingersoll and husband Tom of Valdese. Doris leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her two Yorkies, Briggs and Abby.

There will be a service held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Danny Ward. The church is located at 2441 Antioch Road, Morganton, NC 28655.

The family will receive guests on the day of the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.
