Doralee Caudle

April 17, 1934 — April 27, 2021

Blessed with a gentle spirit, a servant’s heart, and a zest for life Doralee Suddreth Caudle, closed her eyes on April 27, 2021, at 4:55 AM and danced her pretty little self into Heaven. William Edgar and Jewel Childers Suddreth gave birth to their daughter on April 17, 1934. As she grew, she loved playing with her Childer’s cousins, performing in school plays, walking to the movies and her church, South Lenoir Church of God. A 1952 graduate of Hudson High, she was voted “Wittiest” by her classmates. Their annual reunions were one of her favorite events to plan. September 20, 1952, Bobby E Caudle, became her lifelong sweetheart of almost 69 years. As a mother she did not spare the rod nor the love of Jesus, family, and one’s character. Teaching Sunday School at Whitnel First Baptist and Lower Creek Baptist was a true gift and one she took seriously in Doralee’s unique, fun way. School secretary for 27 years at Davenport Elem, she was known as Miss Doralee. According to her, she ran the school, turning intercom announcements into rhymes, and sometimes announcing, “Its 2:30! Lets all go home!” The staff and the Education Center loved her especially when she appeared as “Elvira!” Dr. McNeil never recovered! She was honored to receive Caldwell County’s firstAssociate of the Year Award. Time with her husband, sisters, children, and grandchildren were her most fulfilling. She was the Nana cheering on the losing team, though it may not be her grandchild’s team. A tradition of Easter baskets, Christmas stockings, firecrackers, and shared testimony of what we each were thankful for will be cherished.Welcoming her into Heaven were her parents, sisters, Billy Jo, Cleo, Loretta and Catherine, as well as grandson, Josiah and son in law, Travis. Her honored family are, husband, Bobby; daughter, Kathy Triplett Kistler (Dan);son, Bobby (Laura); sister, Reva Dula; grandsons, Jacob Triplett (Amber),Steven Baker (Holly), Bobby Caudle III (Sierra),and granddaughter,Jessica Wilks (Jeff);great grandchildren, Chloe Triplett, Lawson Wilks, Levi Baker,Maggie Wilks,Trip Wilks and Charly Faye.
