Donna Creger Benson Hudson – Donna Creger Benson, age 55, passed away on September 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Caldwell County on December 30, 1958 to Shirley Putnam Creger and the late David Creger. Donna was married to Mike Benson of the residence. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.C. and Mary Creger and Sherrill and Velma Putnam. Other than her husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Garry Messer and wife, Michele; David Messer and wife, Ashley; Matthew Messer and wife, Savannah; Jessica DeBerry and husband, Michael; Brandon Kirby and wife, Nikki; brothers, Mark Creger and wife, Maria; and Michael Creger; and nine grandchildren. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Phillip DeBerry and Reverend Mr. Robert Hinman officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
