Lenoir –Don “Pop” Hoyle, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative. He was born in Caldwell County on August 1, 1937 to the late Ernest Alton Hoyle and Maggie Bolick Hoyle. Don was a devoted husband of 49 years to his late wife, Charlotte Benfield Hoyle, and a proud and loving father and grandfather. Don was an alumni of Hudson High School, where he played football and other sports. He continued to enjoy storytelling with his Hudson friends and porch buddies. Don was a member of New Life Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Geneva Lee Hoyle; brother, Jim Hoyle and an infant brother. Don is survived by his daughter, Kim Case and husband, Phillip; grandsons, Kyle and Tyler Case; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Benfield;and nephews, David Hoyle and Rick Benfield; and many loving cousins. A celebration of Mr. Hoyle’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Phillip Case and Pastor Travis Oswald officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:30 PM.
