Donald Gregory “Greg” Corley, age 68, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, after a twenty-one year courageous battle with cancer. Greg was born in Caldwell County on October 5, 1954, to Margaret Lorraine and William “Bill” Corley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Corley and step-son, Jimmy Triplette Jr. Greg was a loving, caring husband, father, brother, uncle, and pawpaw. He loved hunting, fishing, bird watching, camping, being in the mountains, traveling, and spending time with his wife and friends. He was best known for his sense of humor. Greg never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He was a member of Living Hope Church as a dedicated Christian and worked at Bernhardt Furniture for many years. Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his parents, are his loving wife, Debra of the home; one child, Autumn Corley (partner, Michelle); brother, William Douglas “Doug” (wife, Melody) Corley of Missouri; sister, Susan (husband, Jeff) Renfro; stepdaughter, Crystal (husband, Kevin) Matheson, three grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 2:00PM at Living Hope Church of Lenoir with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
