Dolores May Leftwich

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Dolores May Crouse Leftwich, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Leftwich was born in Ellis County, OK on January 21, 1926 to the late Joseph Bunyan Crouse and Gladys Donovan Crouse. She was married to R. Ned Leftwich for more than 60 years. She was a faithful member of Lower Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in many of the church activities. Her compassion for others was demonstrated through her more than 50 years of ministry to the women at the Caldwell County Jail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Crouse Cline and her brother, Howard Crouse. Other than her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Rudisill and husband, Alan; her son, Kevin Leftwich and wife, Sharon; brother, Reverend J.B. Crouse and wife, Joan; granddaughter, Laura Todd May and husband, Casey; and grandson, Chris Todd and wife, Erica; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at Lower Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Todd Braswell and Reverend Robert Livingston officiating.
