Dolly M. Moretz

Dolly Moretz Mulberry Creek Road, NC- Mrs. Dolly M. Moretz, age 101, died on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Brian Center-Viewmont. She was born in Watauga County on October 27, 1911 to the late William Lee Moretz and Almeda Church Moretz. Mrs. Moretz was a wonderful caregiver to her family and enjoyed giving to others. She liked to sew and send her pieces to orphanages overseas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Champ Moretz; brothers, Ivan Moretz and Dwight Moretz; and sisters, Emma Coffey and Bertie Moretz. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Swanson; grandchildren, Anita Bentley, Lisa Enloe, Janet Whisnant, Amy Billings, and James Scott; 11 great-grandchildren, including Brittany Enloe and Nikki Scott; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Moretz̢۪s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 1:00 Pm with Pastor Phillip Coffey officiating. Interment will take place at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in Boone. Pallbearers will be Derek Enloe Sr., Derek Enloe Jr., Devin Enloe, Brandon Scott, Hunter Enloe, and James C. Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are James H. Scott and Tony Helton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service.
