Dianne Pennell

Dianne Pennell, 75, of Lenoir passed away on August 10, 2022. Dianne was born on December 15, 1946 in Caldwell County. Dianne enjoyed to travel, making trips to Hawaii twice and Alaska. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed reading, sitting on the front porch, and watching the Carolina Panthers play.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Jerry Smith, and her sister, Marlene Deal.

Dianne is survived by her daughter, Wendy Combs and husband Chad, and her son, Matthew Pennell and wife Ashley. She is survived by her grandchildren: Casey Combs, Cydney Combs, Meredith Pennell, and Zada Townsend. She is survived by one great-grandson, Slater Saunders. She leaves behind her nieces and nephew.

In an act of kindness and care for the generations that Dianne leaves behind, Dianne generously donated her body to research at Duke University Medical Hospital.

The family will have a Gathering of Friends at Evans Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Dianne’s honor be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
