Lenoir- Diane Severt Wilson, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Amorem. She was born in Caldwell County on October 7, 1951 to the late Earl and Mamie Crane Severt. She was married to Jack Wilson of the residence.
Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed dancing and was a regular on Club Dance in Knoxville that was televised on TNN for 7 years. Shopping, traveling, being by the pool and spending time with friends and family were just a few of the many things she enjoyed. During her time of employment, Diane’s career included Lenoir Mirror Company for 33 years; Watauga Medical Center for 6 years; and was a valued employee for the last 17 years at Lowe’s Hardware in Lenoir. She worked in Commercial Sales until March of this year. Diane’s warm, welcoming smile and personality contributed to her establishing many friendships with employees and contractors. She was a long-time, active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Deaton; Nadine Chester and her brother, Bennie Severt.
Other than her husband, Diane is survived by her daughter, Tammy Whittington and husband, Jeff; step-daughter, Sherry Pendergrass and husband, Michael; brothers, Bart Severt; Bruce Severt and Bobby Severt; grandchildren, Kennedy, Maddox and Tucker Whittington; Kasey Nelson and husband, Codi; Jennifer Wellman and husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Reagan Townsend; Abbi and Averi Nelson and Charlie Wellman and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Roger Beck, Pastor Keith Gilliam and Pastor Donnie Solesbee officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hendrix, Darrell Hendrix, Ronny Hendrix, Maddox Whittington, Jeff Whittington and Greg Whittington. Honorary pallbearers are Tucker Whittington, Steve Minton, Michael Pendergrass, Dwayne Deaton and Phillip Church.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 prior to the service.
