Hudson, NC – Mrs. Destlene “Winnie†Woodruff Clark, age 83, of Hudson, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Hudson. Born June 11, 1927 in Caldwell County, Winnie was a daughter of the late Cecil and Nancy Jackson King. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She had worked many years in the furniture industry as a sander. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Clark; a grandson, Shawn Woodruff; her brothers, Lee King, Lloyd King, Ardway King, Caravan King and James King; and her sisters, Metta Mikeals, Leona Estes and Gay Ritch. She is survived by two daughters, Geneva “Jan†Main of Lenoir, and Teresa Woods of Hudson; a son and daughter in law, Nicky and Vicki Woodruff of Lincolnton, NC; one sister, Rosalee Main of Hudson; her grandchildren, Dino Main, Gino Main, Z.G. Main, Michael Main, Lance Main, Robin Dula, Jan Bryant, and Dawn Woods Brown; she is survived by 19 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Winnie’s life will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Reverend Lance Main and Reverend Howard Michaels. Interment will follow the service in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
