Dermont G. Setzer

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Dermont Setzer, age 70, of Lenoir, died Monday, September 24, 2007 in Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born December 3, 1936 in Caldwell County, Mr. Setzer was a son of the late Hubert D. and Gardola Bolick Setzer and the husband of Betty Jo ?B.J.? Walsh Setzer of the home. Mr. Setzer was a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church and had served his country in the National Guard. He enjoyed many experiences in the work force such as driving a truck for Barringer Oil Company, landscaping and construction, long distance truck driving, operating the Hibriten Sunoco Station and delivering Domino?s pizza. He will be remembered as a collector and trader of antiques and the restoration of them. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Vickie Lynn Setzer of Lenoir; Coco Bumgarner of Hickory; one grandson, Brent Anthony Bumgarner of Charlotte; two sisters-in law; Ina W. Martin and husband Dan of Lenoir; Vivian W. Taylor and husband Rob of Lenoir; one brother-in-law, W. Clinton Walsh and wife Martha of Lenoir; 3 nieces, Jill Setzer and fiancé Tommy Carlton of Lenoir; Renee Smith of Morganton; Carma Landis of Lenoir; and three nephews, Danny Martin and wife Tammy of Lenoir; Neal Martin and wife Beth of Winchester, Kentucky; and Ron Curlee, II of Greensboro. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Max H. Setzer. A celebration of Mr. Setzer?s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Lower Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Braswell, Reverend Don Ingle and Reverend David Gales officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 PM at Lower Creek Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Danny Martin, Neal Martin, Ron Curlee, II, Jamie Bolick, Gus Bolick, Todd Bolick, Jeffrey Bolick and Shannon Nichols.
