Dennis Hamby

Hudson – Dennis Larry Hamby, age 79, passed away on February 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on February 15, 1944 to the late Clyde and Ruby Younce Hamby. He was married to Lydia Pearce Hamby of the residence for over 57 years.

He was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church and served in the N.C. National Guard.  He was a volunteer coach in the Bunny Maynard Football Program and also coached a Lenoir Rotary Little League team for many years. Dennis spent his entire working career in the lumber industry.

Other than his wife, he is survived by his sister, Genene Harrold and husband, Wade; brothers, James Hamby and wife, Mary; Gary Hamby and wife, Sylvia; and other family members.

A private graveside service will be held.
