Lenoir, NC- Mr. Dennis Duane Hall, age 62, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his home. Born November 16, 1947 in Stockton, California, Mr. Hall was a son of Mr. Rufus Henry Hall of Modesto, California and the late Marilyn Jean Foster Hall. Dennis was a member of the Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church and a past member of the Lenoir Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. From 1972 until 1982, he served on the Lenoir Police Department and from 1982 until 1994 on the Caldwell County Sheriff?s Department. Many people will remember Dennis as he was the garden center manager at Wal-Mart, where he worked from 1995 until now. Other than his father, he is survived by his wife, Norma Collins Hall of the home, to whom they shared 42 years of marriage, one daughter, Sonia Hartley and husband Kenny; two sons, Travis L. Hall and wife Amy; Tracy L. Hall and wife Jessica, all of Lenoir; one sister, Pam Kalebjian and husband Richard of Stockton, CA; 2 brothers, Richard Hall and wife Doreen of Tracy, CA; Bradley Hall of Stockton, CA; 9 Grandchildren, Meghan Triplett, Tucker Triplett, Jon Hartley, Kyle Hartley, Spencer Hartley, Brittany Hall, Hunter Hall, Jordan Hall and Jailee Hall. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Collins of Lenoir; his sister-in-law, Marty Goodman of Lenoir and four brothers-in-law, Tommy Collins of Wilmington and Chris Collins, Eric Collins and Mitchell Collins, all of Lenoir. A celebration of Dennis? life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Keith Gilliam, Pastor David Crisp and Pastor Gray Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Setzer?s Gap Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday, March 19, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory in Lenoir. Pallbearers will be: Brian Collins, William Collins, Charlie Hamby, Darin Triplett, Lee Buckner and Diamond Brown. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Wal-Mart Department managers.
