Granite Falls, NC- Mr. Dempsey Joe Welsh, age 56, of Grindstone Lane, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at his home. Born October 30, 1950 in Caldwell County, Mr. Welsh was a son of the late Dallas Joe Welsh and Beulah Chloe McLean Smith of Hudson. He was the husband of the late Carolyn Taylor Welsh. Surviving other than his mother is his son, Gary Joe Welsh of Lenoir; one sister, Beulah Ann Eller of Hudson; 2 half-brothers; 2 half-sisters and 2 nephews. The family will receive friends at 2508 Grant Road, Hudson on Saturday from 3 until 5 PM and on Sunday from 3 until 5 PM.
