Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Della Borders Coffey, age 77, of Lenoir, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born August 12, 1932 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Coffey was a daughter of the late Carl Washington and Glenna Irene Martin Borders and the wife of Mr. Maynard M. Coffey of the home. Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Anthony Scott ?Spanky? Wilson, one sister, Mrs. Charlie (Clydia) Dillard and two brothers, Reverend Wayne Borders and William ?Bill? Borders. Surviving other than her husband are two sons, David Maynard Coffey and wife Melissa; Mark S. Coffey and wife Amy; 5 daughters, Myra Kaye Coffey Chandler; Mrs. Jake (Patty) Sanders; Teresa Coffey Hale; Mrs. Jimmy (April) Edwards; Mrs. Gary (Leslea) Prestwood; 2 sisters, Mrs. James (Carlene) Corley and Mrs. George (Louise) Walsh; all of Lenoir; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Coffey?s life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Dr. Alan Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory.
