Debbie Banner

Deborah Deal Banner “Debbie”, age 72, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on August 24, 1951 to the late Houston Deal and Lilly Ann Suddreth.

Debbie was a loving mother and an absolutely amazing grandmother. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life and she loved spending time with them. In her earlier years, Debbie drove a school bus and worked in the summer programs at Mulberry Recreation Center. She often spoke of her "other" children that she worked with and cared for. Because of her loving nature and willingness to help others she later became a CNA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grafton Banner and her great-grandson, Jayden Chester.

Debbie is survived by her step-mother, Revonda Deal; daughter, Brandy Banner and husband, Jonathan; John Chester and wife, Mandy; Terrence Banner and wife, Joni; Dorva Connelly; brothers, Aaron Deal and wife, Christy; Derrick Deal and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Jon-Mykal Chester; Kayla Banner and husband, Devon; Kane Banner; Quadyre Tugman; Duder Tugman; Jacob Chester; Kourtney Chester; Chapel Chester; Trey Greene; Hunter Greene; Lexton Connelly; Skylar Connelly; Jocelyn Cowick; Raelyn Cowick; Brody Banner; great-grandchildren, Julianna Chester; Quay Danner; Yoni Danner; Tayson Danner; and numerous other family members.

The family will have a memorial service for Debbie at a later date where afterwards she will be inurned at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
