Dean Webster Greer

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Dean Webster Greer, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on February 26, 1935 to the late Gonzalo Greer and Elsie Phillips Greer. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked at Broyhill Furniture Industries for more than 40 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Phillips, Arlie Phillips, Harold Greer, Herbert “Hub” Greer; sisters, Audrey Phillips, Avis Suddreth, and Lennis Eller. Mr. Greer is survived by his daughter, Caren Hartley and husband, Mark of Boomer; brother, James (Doug) Greer of Lenoir; sister, Novella Davis of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren, Matthew Hartley of Lenoir; Ethan Hartley of Boomer; Megan Hartley of Boomer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mr. Greer will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
