Lenoir, NC- Mr. David Edward Rawls, age 74, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home. Born September 23, 1938 in Seattle, Washington, he was the son of John and Marian Rawls. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a child, David grew up in a Military family living all over the world. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, camping, gardening and going on trips. David served in the Air Force and then worked for a few Graphic Arts Businesses. He then decided to open his own Technical Illustrator and Graphic Arts business. Survivors include his wife, Judy B. Rawls of the home; his children, Mark S. Rawls and David C. Rawls, both from Raleigh and Valene R. Lee of Idaho; his step children, Teresa P. Jabillo of Texas, and Nathaniel M. Pendegraft of South Port, NC; his brother and sister in law, George and Shirley Bristol; a brother, John Rawls; two sisters, Laurine Phillips and Patricia Metlock; he is survived by 16 grandchildren, a number of Great Grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of David’s life with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Bellview Cemetery at 2:00 PM with President Steve Conners officiating. Memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1775 Connelly Springs Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
