David Roosevelt Land

David Roosevelt Land, 82, of Lenoir, NC passed away on August 31, 2023.

David was born on February 2, 1941 to the late Lee and Minnie Land.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Harley Land; grandson, Brandon Land; brothers, Curly Land and J.C. Land, and sister, Hazel Holsclaw.

Those left to cherish David’s memory are his wife of 62 years, Madlene; sons, Eddie (Angie), David, John (Tina); daughter, Diane Small, Glenda Beane; brother, Edgar (Etta); sister, Pearl Hatton, grandchildren, Crystal Small, Brent Small, Danielle Huffman, Dakota Mullimax, Tony Land, Tyler Land, and Hannah Brown; 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.

David loved to hunt, fish, do a little front porch sitting, and enjoyed his garden.  He retired from Broyhill Chair 1, and he received many coats for perfect attendance.  He was there everyday just as the whistle would blow.  He loved his family and his grandbabies.

David will be immensely missed by his loved ones.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Evans Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, the family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Lenoir, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amorem Hopsice.
