David Hoskey Poteet

Lenoir, NC ? Mr. David Hoskey Poteet, age 68, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Poteet was born May 19, 1942 in Burke County to the late Roy and Rosalee Helton Poteet. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Smith Poteet of the home. In addition to his parents, Mr. Poteet was preceded in death by his son, David Alan Poteet; his daughter, Cynthia Clark; his brothers, Emmitt, Donald, and Charlie Poteet; and his sisters, Thelma Simmons and Earlene Simpson. Other survivors include his son, Brian Poteet of Lenoir; his daughter, Vickie Franklin of Lenoir; brothers, Harold and Ralph Poteet; grandchildren, Matthew Brown, David Allen Poteet, Cynthia K. Poteet and Amber Nicole Poteet; and one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Poteet. A celebration of Mr. Poteet?s life will be held at Fleming?s Chapel Baptist Church on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00 with Pastor Scott Shaffner officiating. Interment will follow in the Denton?s Chapel Cemetery in Burke County. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, from 1:00 until 2:00, at the church.
