David Newcomb

Lenoir, NC – Mr. David Newcomb, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Knox County, TN on March 17, 1930 to the late James and Bessie Newcomb. He was married to Ruth Baker Newcomb of the residence He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Newcomb was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where he was a life-time deacon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David John Newcomb, and 10 brothers and one sister. Other than his wife he is survived by his daughter, Paula Blankenship and husband Mickey; grandson, Chris Blankenship and wife, Keila; and great-grandchildren, Keegan Blankenship and Garrett Warren. A celebration of Mr. Newcomb’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ted Williams, Pastor Mike Isaacs and Pastor Scott Thomas officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service.
