This was written by Chris Randall, a very nice young man that sort of adopted me as a work Mom not long after I started working at the Galaxy in Longview. That was a long time ago and he has truly become a part of our family.David and I both just consider him our son and Tyler and Cody will tell you he is their brother. He has written the best tribute that a son could for a dad.He would have loved it!!!Thank you, Theresea Cannon The last dispatch given, the last mile driven. The last load hauled to the last destination, one final trip on that long lonesome road. No more long hauls or layover in some nowhere town or long sleepless nights on the shoulder of the road. No more truck stop meals, log books, or D.O.T. weigh scales. As your bobtailing home through that last long tunnel, the light hits your eyes and you wonder where you are. You pull that rig through the open gates and see only one spot to park for the final time. Just like every time before you back in, you gather your things and turn off the engine. As you open the door slide off the seat and climb down one last time. As you shut the door and turn to take a step you realize you've never seen this before, so you shut the door. Shocked and in awe you suddenly hear a strange voice say "well done driver." You look around and hear it again, this time it says "there's no more asphalt or concrete for these streets are paved w/ gold. Those gates were open for I knew you were coming. You’re not picking up or dropping off; you had no trailer because you my son are the special delivery. Your duties are done, it’s time for your reward, your family and friends know your with me and made it safe and on time." Written by: Chris Randall
