David R. Jackson

David Roi Jackson, 90, of Lenoir, NC, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Marion Johnson, William Jackson, Marty Jackson, and Mark Jackson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Jackson; son, Lawton Jackson; daughters, Lyra Prickett (Derek) and Leslie Johnson (Bryan); grandsons, Ashton Zeller (Barbara), Reid Zeller (Ashley), Patrick Zeller (Ashton), Brendon Zeller, Bailey Zeller (Shelby), Ethan Johnson and Graham Johnson; great-grandchildren, Lyra Zeller, Adelaide Zeller, Thomas Zeller and Blue Zeller; brother, Robert Jackson (Marjorie); half-brother, Fred Mina (Elizabeth) and special nieces and nephews.

Dave was a man of faith who loved a challenge. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 18 years. He was a graduate of the University of Florida and was employed by Eastman Kodak company for 30 years. Although his family came first, he was always ready to lend a hand OR tell you how to do it. He found joy in listening to beautiful music, creating in his workshop, building birdhouses with his grandsons and sharing vegetables from his garden. Dave delighted in seeing his 7 grandsons become the young men they are today.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:00pm at Lenoir Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lenoir Presbyterian Church or Samaritan's Purse .
