David Coy Greer

David Coy Greer, 77, of Lenoir, NC, passed away on December 10, 2023.

David was born on November 16, 1946, to the late Earl and Vester Greer.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by sisters, Annie and Alice.

Those left to cherish David’s memory are his wife of 32 years, Debra Turner Greer; daughters; Frances (Tim), Dana (John), Haley; sons; Terry (Marcia), Jeff (Nickie); stepson, Jason (Debra); 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; brother, Harold Greer (Mary); sister, Elizabeth; his best four-legged friend, Jake and numerous other relatives.

David worked in furniture factories his whole life until he was laid off, at the time he went back to college and got an auto repair degree.  David was a wonderful husband.  Over the last five years he has been by his wife’s side and gone over and beyond his duty as a husband. His favorite things in life were his family, gardening, building old classics and hot rod cars, he loved his best friend Jake, he loved to eat, sit and watch FOX news, and discuss politics.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Reverend James Wilfong officiating. Burial will follow at The Greer Family Cemetery in Fleetwood, NC.
