Lenoir, NC- Mr. David Henry Baldwin, Jr. age 71, of Zacks Fork Road, Lenoir, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Mr. Baldwin was born February 17, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late David Henry Baldwin, Sr. and Lois Deal Baldwin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baldwin was preceded in death by an infant brother, Dennis Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin graduated from Happy Valley High School. He was retired from self-employment. David was always an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. After retirement he pursued a passion of acrylic painting. He was a member of Zacks Fork Baptist Church for 38 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Royal Ambassador Leader and part-time choir director. Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife, Iris Ann Hart Baldwin and daughter, Amanda Leah Baldwin of the home; one son, Jody David Baldwin and wife Christy of Lenoir; daughter, Malia Baldwin Kirby and husband Joey of Lenoir; two step-sons, Mike Hartley of Springfield, Ohio; and Jimmy Warren of Vietnam. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Josh Baldwin, Eain Kirby, Jordan Fisher and MacKenzie Baldwin all of Lenoir and Cheyanna and Courtney Hartley of Springfield, Ohio. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Evelyn Barnes; Wanda Johnson, both of Lenoir; Marilyn Cardwell of Hudson; two brothers, Roger Baldwin and wife Pat of Lenoir; Gary Baldwin and wife Chuckie of Hudson; 4 nieces, 5 nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of David’s life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Zacks Fork Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Baldwin officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 5 until 6:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory in Lenoir. Pallbearers will be: Greg Francum, Wesley Cardwell, Chris Baldwin, Michael Salley and life-long friends, Benny Walker and Charles Kincaid. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of Zacks Fork Baptist Church and life-long friend, Stanley Tuttle.
