Darwin "Duck" Mikeal

Mr. Darwin “Duck” Clark Mikeal, age 69, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Hudson.

Born April 12, 1953 in Caldwell County, Duck was the son of the late Earl and Frances Clark Mikeal.  Duck loved the outdoors.  Especially spending time in the mountains, fishing and camping.  He also enjoyed horseback riding, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes.  Duck was an antique car enthusiast and the owner of several 50’s model vehicles.  Duck worked for many years constructing billboards.  He enjoyed going to church and living life.

Surviving family members include his wife of 49 years, Susan Byerley Mikeal; his children, Courtney Mikeal (fiancée Daniel Shull) and Jason Mikeal (wife Emily); a sister, Meleah Mikeal; two grandchildren, Haley Pierce (husband Casey) and Emma Mikeal; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A funeral service celebrating Duck's life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Flemings Chapel Baptist Church at 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
