Darrell Miller

Lenoir, NC- Reverend Darrell Miller, age 77, of Lenoir, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born May 27, 1934 in Boone, NC, he was a son of the late Olen Carson and Ella Triplett Miller. Reverend Miller was a concrete finisher and rock mason. He was a minister for 57 years in the area serving many churches. He loved to fish and hunt. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Antonia Miller, a sister, Brenda Miller and brother Earl Miller. He is survived by his wife, Lena M. Miller of the home; three sons, Reverend Edwin Lynn Miller and wife Debbie Ann of Connelly Springs; Eric Darrell Miller and wife Rebecca of Lenoir; Kirk Miller of Lenoir; 5 sisters, Faye Rhymer Triplett of Triplett, Betty Ford and husband Ray of Morganton, Linda Eggers and husband Junior of Valle Crucis; Claudia Aldridge of Foscoe; Leta Greene and husband Rick of Blowing Rock; one brother, Hugh Vaughn Miller of Fleetwood; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Eric Miller, Keisha Amber Miller, Whitney L. Miller and 2 great-grandchildren, Mason James Lutz and Patton Carter Brown. A celebration of Reverend Miller’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Van Proffit, Reverend Nick Annas, Bud McLean, Reverend Edwin Miller and Eric Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be: Mike Coffey, Michael Vines, Reverend Mark Annas, Reverend Jack Lewis and Alan Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Reverend Roger Derryberry, Reverend T.J.
