Hudson, NC- Mr. Darrell Marvin Greene, age 65, of Hudson, died Tuesday August 19, 2014 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.Born April 6, 1949 in Caldwell County, Darrell was a son of the late Jack Marvin Greene and Mrs. Mamie Kirby Greene of Patterson and the husband of Carol Pardue Greene of the home. Darrell was a member of Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church and a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War.He was well-known for coon hunting and most of all being a Walker Coon Dog Showman.He was a member of the Rock Creek Coon Club. Other than his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Amanda Delaine Greene of Lenoir; Rebecca Ann Gentry and husband Preacher Paul Gentry of Lenoir; Delita Chrissie Pardue of Billingham, WA; Devon McKinley Gilreath of Carlsbad, CA; 2 sisters, Pansy Caudill and husband Danny of Hudson; Kaye Greene of Patterson; Kenny McKinley Greene and wife Reba of Happy Valley; 4 Grandchildren, Eric Marvin Church, Christopher Ray Church, Diane Brooke Stone, Elijah Josiah Gentry and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Alyssa Kayleigh Stone and Oakley Mikeal Stone. A celebration of Mr. Greene’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Keith Gilliam and Preacher Paul Gentry officiating.Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pallbearers will be:Eric Church, Chris Church, Dillard Kirby, Robert Greene, Trey Greene and Hunter Greene. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association 55 W.
