Darrell Wayne Gragg

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Darrell Wayne Gragg, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Gragg was born in Caldwell County on July 31, 1931 to the late James Phillip Gragg and Flossie McLean Gragg.  He was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church and formerly Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He served as a foster parent in Caldwell County for ten years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gragg was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Craig Gragg; sister, Mary Bell Leonard; and brothers, Gerald and Muriel Gragg. He is survived by his children, Amanda Gragg Leach and Jerald Wayne Gragg; grandsons, Steve H. Leach and Christopher D. Leach; brother, Kermit Gragg and wife, Ann; sisters, Burdell Davis, and Inez Marshall and husband, Jerry; great-grandchildren, Campbell Leach and Mallory Leach; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Miller Hill Baptist Church on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve Walsh and Reverend James W. Hamby officiating.
