Lenoir, NC- Mr. Danny Kaye Heavner went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones that passed before him on September 2, 2010. He was born on January 31, 1947 in Shelby, NC to the late Kenneth and Gladys Heavner. Dan was reunited in Heaven with many loved ones whom preceded him in death. These include sisters, Linda Huss and Jan Bost; one brother, Wayne Heavner; a son Shawn Woodruff; and in laws, Howard and Marjorie Walser. Dan will be dearly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved life and bringing joy to others. A smile always greeted everyone he met. He loved to entertain with a joke or a song. A void will be felt in the hearts of all who knew him. Dan?s memory will be celebrated by his survivors: his wife, Sylvia Walser Heavner; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Jennifer Heavner; a precious grandson, Skylar Heavner; one sister, Ann Berry; brother and sister-in-laws, Howard and Althea Walser, Bernard and Deborah Storie, and Walter and Sandra Adams. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Danny?s life will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Howard Walser, Chuck McGee, Clinton Andrews, Kevin Bost, Tim Roberson, and Mitch Roberson will be serving as pallbearers. Dutch Leonard, Tyler Chatham, Cody Robertson, Dylan Tucker and Jeff Gavin will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
