Daniel Russ

Hudson, NC – Daniel “Junior” Russ Jr., age 67, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday morning, November 4, 2010 at his residence. Born January 3, 1943 in Creston, NC, Junior was a son of the late, Daniel and Elsie Humphrey Russ, Sr. He worked for many years in the furniture industry as a band saw operator. He was a Christian and Army veteran. He loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed wood crafting and anything to do with making furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Russ; and one sister, Ruby Flanery. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Russ of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jan & Robert Phillips of Hudson, and Dorine Russ of Catawba county; one son, Daniel “Danny” Russ III of Lenoir; one brother, Delmar Russ of Shallotte, NC; four sisters; Eulah Osborne of Creston, Cora Griggs of Lenoir, Betty Rash of Nebo, and Barbara Wallace of Maryland; four grandsons, Ricky Watson Jr., Daniel Russ IV, Tyler Russ, and James Cody Russ; three granddaughters, Amber Russ, Sarah Moody, and Brittney Moody; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Junior’s life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Mark Moody and Matthew Moody officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
