Daniel David Penley

Lenoir– Mr. Daniel “D.D.” David Penley, age 65, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home. Born January 13, 1951 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Ernest Pinkney Penley, Sr. and Eloise Payne Penley and husband of Iva Trivette Penley to with whom they shared 43 years of marriage. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Annas; two brothers, Bruce and Archie Penley and a nephew Bobby Penley. Mr. Penley was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mitzi Penley and Sam Foresman and husband Jerry all of Lenoir; special friend, Myke Bell; three brothers, Emmitt Penley and wife Thelma of Lenoir; Ernest Penley Jr. and wife Marcia of Vermont; Marty Penley and wife Annette of Lenoir; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Penley’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Benny Hendrix officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
