Granite Falls, NC- Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Wayburn Propst, age 59, of Granite Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born March15, 1955 in Ft. Walton, Florida, Cindy was a daughter of Randall Charles Wayburn, Sr. and the late Louise Mariann Spires Wayburn. Cindy had worked for MDI for 33 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss. She was an avid reader, she took care of her husband Billy and her family but most of all, wrapped herself in her Grandchildren. Other than her father, she is survived by her husband of 37 years, W.L. “Billy” Propst; her daughter, Rachel Marie Propst McDaniel and husband Michael; her son, Ryan Matthew Propst and wife Sarah; 2 sisters, Louise Teague and Nancy Rodriguez, brother, Randall C. Wayburn, Jr., 5 Grandchildren, Laressa Cale, Taylor Propst, Chase Treadway, Kate McDaniel, Kyla McDaniel; a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many other family and friends, including Linda Propst Miller, Cindy’s Best Friend and special friends, Sarah McLean Burgess and Melanie Shoemaker. The family will be conducting a celebration of Cindy’s life. It will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 7:00 PM at 1st Baptist Church –Rhodhiss with Reverend Ricky Miller and Thurmon Roe officiating. Music will be provided by Matt & Laura Brewer, Gloria Huffman and Taylor Propst. The family will be receiving friends prior to the celebration from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.
