Curtis Rogers

November 9, 1961 — August 5, 2020

In life we all are given the breath we take and the life we make. During the short time we are here people come into our lives that make an impact. Simply being around that person makes you a better man, husband, and father. They are the rock that builds mountains and the force that moves the earth. It is hard to imagine a life without them but our inevitable demise is a well orchestrated plan that we cannot evade. We don't know when we will go or where. We leave behind those we never want to hurt. We leave them to suffer an unbearable heartache that is beyond our control. It is the footprint we leave in the sand that determines our legacy. Curtis Rogers, you left a HUGE footprint that I would be lucky to come close to. You stood by me for over 20 years through my best and worst times. You gave me the greatest gift I could imagine. You gave me your daughter, you gave me a family, and you gave me your heart. You showed me how to love even when love wasn't needed. You have flown high today. You have received the grace we all should be so lucky to receive. You deserve to be at peace. You deserve to walk high on that mountain. As much as I want you back I will let you go. You have gone on to far greater things than anyone can imagine. No more pain, worry, or disease. I love you, I miss you, but guess what? I will see you again. Semper Fi Marine, Semper Fi Dad!!!!! God take him into comfort and ease his pain, Amen!!P.S. Yes, I will put stain on the deck! Written by his son-in-law, Chris Buff Curtis is survived by his wife of 43 years, June; children, Amanda Buff and husband, Chris; Brian Rogers and wife, Jamie; Jackie Turner and husband, Bryson; five grandchildren, Christopher, Justice, Logan, Daphne and Kallie; sister, Veronica Beaudoin; and six nieces; parents, Frank and Geraldine Whittemore; and many other loving family members.
