Curtis Lane Johnson, 88, of Lenoir, passed away on April 17th, 2020 at Caldwell UNC Hospital. Graveside services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Robert Livingston of Fellowship Baptist Church officiating.Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this will be a private service. Curtis was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His loving smile, kind heart, and gentle ways will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Curtis was born in Watauga County to the late Ottis and Zora Issacs Johnson on June 8th, 1931. He married Willa Dean Woods on June 20, 1953 and was happily married for 47 years. He was employed by Bush Oldsmobile-Pontiac for over 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Willa Dean Johnson. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny, Lonnie, Burl, and by his sisters Blanche Sherrill, Earle Walker, and Lucille Jarrett. Survivors include his two children, Gary Johnson and wife, Beth, Lisa Winkler and husband, Eddie, granddaughters Macy Johnson, Ally Johnson, and Hallie Winkler.He is also survived by a special friend, Helen Garnes, and her family.
