Courtney Youngs

Dave Youngs Lenoir, NC- Mr. Courtney “Dave” Youngs, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Gateway Nursing Center. Mr. Youngs was born in Portland, OR on August 19, 1934 to the late Curtis E. Youngs and Ruth Sims Youngs. He was married to Maude L. Triplett Youngs for 39 years. Mr. Youngs was a retired United States Air Force veteran and he and his wife were former owners of the Star Restaurant in Lenoir. He also worked for 10 years for Thomasville Furniture in Lenoir. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis “Gene” E. Youngs, Jr. and sister, Gwenyth Cole. Other than his wife, he is survived by his brother, Bob Youngs and wife, Rose of Washington; sisters, Muriel “Mel” Reimal and husband, Bob of California and Ann Budworth and husband, Raymond of Arizona; step-son, Cliff Suddreth and caregiver, Edie Suddreth; and three step-daughters. A celebration of Mr. Youngs life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 7:30 PM with Dr. Cliff Black officiating. Interment will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with military honors.
