Clyde Wellborn

Ms. Clyde Colene Wellborn, 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Shaire Center. She was born in Caldwell County on October 6, 1921 to the late Carl Wellborn and Lula Belle Hamby Wellborn. She was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and retired from Bell South after many years of service. She was an avid volunteer for many special groups and was known for her love of taking pictures. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ellen Nelson Wellborn; brothers, Earl and Joseph Wellborn and her sister, Mildred Carpenter. Ms.Wellborn is survived by her brother, Carl Wellborn, Jr. of Lenoir; sisters, Adrienne Watson of Lenoir; Nancy Mackie of Clover, SC; Bea Pope of Lenoir; Alma Mullinax of Lenoir; Eva Welch of Boomer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ms. Wellborn’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Livingston and Pastor Daren Smart officiating. Burial will be in Harper’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
