Clyde Ray Spears

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Clyde Ray Spears, age 69, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his home. Born December 18, 1939 in Wilkes County, Mr. Spears was a son of the late Duel Spears and Mary Phillips Spears of Lenoir and the husband of Cleo Juanita Watson Spears to whom he had been married for 51 years. Mr. Spears was a retired truck driver for Caldwell Freight Lines after 35 years. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rex Spears; his maternal Grandparents, Clyde and Stella Phillips and his paternal Grandparents, Leander and Ellen Spears. Surviving other than his wife and mother are 3 sons, Bruce Spears and wife Shirley; Allen Spears and wife Jeanneen and Bryan Spears, all of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Linda Sherrill and Ann Wear, both of Lenoir; 3 brothers, Gene Spears of Texas; Danny Spears of Fayetteville; Mike Spears of Lenoir; and three grandsons, Josh Spears, Justin Spears and Jordan Spears, all of Lenoir. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, June 11, 2009 in the Kincaid Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Steve Butler and Dr. Claude B. Suddreth officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir. Pallbearers will be: Bryan Spears, Josh Spears, Justin Spears, Jordan Spears, Glenn Hammrick, Ashley Brooks, Junior Hayes and Danny Hayes.
