Clint Franklin Thomas, 80, of Rose Place, Lenoir, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at his residence.He was born May 17, 1938 to the late Sherman Thomas and Lena Thomas Pugh. Clint graduated from North Carolina School for the Deaf and retired from Bernhardt Industries after 44 years. Clint was the founder of NC Bass Anglers of the Deaf established in 1974 and is also in the NCSD Hall of Fame for football and wrestling.He loved putting out his Christmas Village for many people to enjoy.He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife and the love of his life for 58 years, Elizabeth A. Thomas. He is also survived by daughters, Nancy Cannon and husband Rickie of Lenoir, Janet Epperson and husband Dave of Lincolnton, Sue Ann Kanupp and husband Jeff of Lenoir, grandchildren Beth Fleenor and husband Devin, Bailey Kanupp, Trevor Kanupp & Stephanie Rodriguez, Grayson Epperson and great grandchildren Shelby & Wyatt Fleenor. Serving as pallbearers will be Rickie Cannon Sr., Dave Epperson, Jeff Kanupp, Trevor Kanupp, Grayson Epperson, and Rickie Cannon Jr. A graveside service celebrating Clint’s life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 3:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Sunday prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.evansfuneralservice.com.
