Clifton Dwight Gentry

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Clifton Dwight Gentry, age 74, of Pleasant Hill Road, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born February 4, 1933 in Caldwell County, Mr. Gentry was a son of the late Stacy and Maedell Fritz Gentry and the husband of Sylvia Adams Gentry of the home. Mr. Gentry was a retired self-employed painting contractor and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Other than his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen Sue Gentry and Merton Jenkins of Lenoir; 4 Grandchildren, Samuel J. Haughton, Jr., Tessa Rene Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins and T.J. Jenkins, Jr., one sister, Glaidous Oliver and husband Carl of Lenoir and 3 brothers, Newton Gentry and wife Dorothy of Lenoir; Aaron Gentry and wife Geraldine of Severn, NC and Eddie Ray Gentry and wife Donna of Clemmons. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Baker and Viva Jean Rivers and one brother, Stacy Gentry, Jr. A celebration of Mr. Gentry?s life will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Lakeview Baptist Church in Hudson with Reverend Roger Burgett and Reverend Sam Abbee officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 7 PM prior to the service at Lakeview Baptist Church.
