Claudine "Mickey" Craig

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Claudine “Mickey” Armes Craig, age 90, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born April 24, 1932, Mickey was a daughter of the late Challie and Vernice West Armes. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Hudson First Baptist Church.Mickey was a Hudson resident for many years and served the ladies of the area as a hairdresser.More often than not, laughter floated through the windows of her shop.Mickey loved her work and her customers were part of her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Kent Craig. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Debra Holsclaw and Mrs. Denise Bare of Granite Falls, Ms. Daun Daemon of Raleigh; Grandchildren, Mr. Miles Bare of Knoxville, TN, Mr. Matthew Bare of Raleigh, Mrs. Elizabeth DeHaan of Denver, NC; her sisters, Dr. Nancy Lockee of Charlotte and Mrs. Patsy Waters of Hudson; She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Hudson First Baptist Church with Reverend Mack Jarvis and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating.Interment will follow the service in the Sardis Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Hudson First Baptist Church at 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC28638.
