Claude Douglas Watson “Doug”, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.He was born June 23, 1953 in Caldwell County to the late Wardell and Velma Watson. Doug was retired from Robbins Sign Supply after 25 years of employment.Doug served with the Kings Creek Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for 38 years.He held various positions within the department throughout his years of service.He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.He was a loving father who always put his boys first and was supportive in every step of their life.He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Brian Watson and wife Jessica, Stephen Watson and wife Claudia; grandchildren, Zachary Hatton, Brett Watson, Leah Watson, Blake Watson, Abby Watson, Colton Watson and Mollie Watson; two brothers, Henry Watson and wife Linda, AZ Watson and wife Sue; honorary daughter/niece, Tearrea Conley and other numerous nieces. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Kings Creek Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Stephen Raby and Pastor Randy Goode. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Fire Department Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be:Zachary Hatton, Danny Bolick Jr., Seth Whisenant, Terrence Tucker, Baron Eller and Shannon Dunn.
