Clarke Harmon Smith

Clarke Harmon Smith, age 1, went to be with Jesus on November 8, 2022. He was born July 24, 2021 in Catawba County to Dana and L. J. Smith. Clarke Harmon will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile that could light up the world. From the moment he woke in the mornings until he went to bed at night, he smiled and was always happy. His happiness filled the lives of his family and friends with such joy. He had a wonderful, contagious laugh that could melt away the rough of the day and put sunshine in your heart. Heart warming is the word that comes to mind when this child was in your arms. He was full of life, curious about everything, a spit fire personality that kept everyone on his toes. Playing outside with his older brother, watching and learning were his favorite things to do. He was a special gift to his family and will never be forgotten. An angel on earth. In addition to his parents, Clarke is survived by his big brother, Joey; his grandparents, Buck and Denise Smith; Ronald and Cynthia Bowman; uncle, Dusty Smith and wife, Abbi; cousins, Hutch and Beau Smith; aunts, Emily and Julie Bowman; and numerous extended family. A memorial service celebrating Clarke’s life will be held at Grace Chapel Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 4:30 PM at the walking track/park. Receiving will follow the service until 7:00 PM in the fellowship hall. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Grace Chapel United Methodist Church, Clarke Harmon Smith Playground Fund, 4336 Grace Chapel Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
