Clarence Autry Wilson, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at The Greens at Spruce Pine. He was born in Laurens, SC on February 23, 1940 to the late Herbert C. Wilson and Gertrude H. Wilson.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the military police and retired from Bryant Electric Supply Company in Hickory after more than 30 years of service. Clarence was an active volunteer with South Caldwell Athletics for many years, serving in the Booster Club and on the Chain Gang. He was a member of Royal Chapel Church of God for many years and loved playing on their softball team.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Kay C. Wilson; brothers, Roger Wilson and Dan Wilson.
Clarence is survived by his son, Jeffrey Wilson and wife, Courtney.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5:30 until 6:30 PM.
Clarence will be inurned at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
